Group Sessions

Looking for support during a difficult time?

At The Centre, we understand how important it is to have people you can talk to in order to get through tough times. That’s why we are now offering group classes that focus on identifying coping strategies and building resiliency. Each class will be facilitated by professionals with lived experience, who understand the struggles and challenges of living with mental health or addiction issues.

Our courses are designed to help build capacity within oneself, challenge existing beliefs and behaviours and develop skillsets needed for effective self-care. Plus some classes may also be reimbursable through your health insurance plans!

 Group Counselling

Group counselling is a powerful form of psychological treatment that can help individuals find relief from emotional and mental health challenges. It provides a supportive environment where members can learn to better understand their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs while building self-awareness and skills for managing distress. In addition, through the process of talking with peers who share similar experiences, individuals often gain insights into themselves that they wouldn't have otherwise. Group therapy sessions not only create a space of acceptance and understanding, but they also offer an opportunity to share unique perspectives while providing challenges that stimulate growth and learning. By engaging in group therapy, individuals may be able to discover new ways of living and coping with life's challenges as well as build strong relationships with peers who provide support when needed.

Anxiety Group Counselling

An 8-week anxiety group can be a useful tool for those who experience high levels of anxiety. In the group, participants will learn various strategies to help manage their anxiety, from cognitive reframing to breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. Through discussion and practice in-group sessions, participants will have an opportunity to share experiences and gain support from others with similar struggles. This can lead to increased self-awareness, resilience and stress management skills, which can improve overall well being.

Class starts February 13, 2024

Online DBT Classes

Online DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) group therapy classes offer individuals a chance to develop better emotional regulation and resilience. These classes provide an opportunity to learn healthy strategies for managing difficult emotions, building interpersonal skills, and improving relationships. In the online setting, participants will have access to the same evidence-based techniques used in traditional DBT as well as cutting-edge tools that help build self-awareness and coping skills. By joining an online DBT group therapy class, individuals can benefit from being part of a supportive community of peers who understand similar struggles and receive guidance from experienced therapists who are committed to helping them find balance in their lives.
